Dunshee's Casita
Next to the owner’s house, the Casita is a separate two bedroom guest house which is both spacious and cozy and filled with the owner’s personal touches: fresh flowers, homemade cookies, a wonderful collection of art and books.
Brightened by skylights, the inviting main room has a comfortable sitting area with a kiva fireplace and library at one end and a kitchen/dining area at the other. It's furnished with country antiques, quilts, and plants plus modern amenities—stereo-CD player, WiFi, cable TV with Netflix and telephone. The larger bedroom has a queen bed, skylight and en-suite half bath with toilet, vanity and washer/dryer. The second bedroom has an antique cherry double bed and lace-covered windows looking out to the private back patio. Two additional beds are provided by the sleigh trundle bed in the foyer. The Mexican-tiled bathroom has a tub-shower and a hair dryer.
There are two patios, a private patio in back for lounging and reading as well as a flower-filled patio in front where you can enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine under a big cottonwood tree.
In addition to the delicious cookies and breakfast goodies to get you started, the fully equipped kitchen is perfect for those who want to take advantage of Santa Fe’s great farmers’ market and want to prepare meals at home. Help yourself to herbs and tomatoes from the garden.While you can be as independent as you like in the Casita, artist/proprietor Susan Dunshee is just next door if you need any assistance or advice.
